NACommunities is a project initiated by the Council for Voluntary Services North Ayrshire with the aim of creating a searchable database of community groups in the area.
My role within the project was to take the initial idea – a searchable database – and turn into a workable site that people would want to use. I took the decision early on to leverage the Google Maps API to create a searchable, location based system that works not only on the desktop but also on mobile devices. I was also tasked with the design and print of a wide range of marketing materials including a bus advertising campaign that ran during 2011.
